The Art Show was fantastic! It was great to see all of the parents and students discussing and enjoying the artworks. I also observed our local newspaper reporter getting some great interviews from students! We were very busy and it was wonderful to see all of our families as well as hear all of the great stories. Thank you for supporting the Arts! Don't forget to stop by again in late March for our K-2 artists!
Welcome back to a new school year and... a new school! All of the changes in Norridge District 80 have been amazing. This summer, I watched the school come to life in a new form with the hard work of teachers...and their friends and families. It has been amazing to watch the transformation.
As I am renewing my website to reflect my new class assignments, room and building, and even adding in my new role as Restorative Justice Dean, I realize I have been on-and-off about keeping up with a blog. It's hard to remember to update it with all of the cool and amazing projects we have done! I'll try to add even more updates this year, and maybe some oldies-but-goodies from past years. Thanks for all of your support and enthusiasm! Mrs. Crepas A really nice presentation produced for Springfield (Illinois) Public Schools. The original post can be found here:

At the end of school last year, when classes had a chance or when students finished a project, 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades worked collaboratively on giant murals. In one of the pictures, you can see some of the now-second grade artists who collaborated on this Joan Miró inspired mural last year. Joan Miró was a Spanish artist whose work is often called Surrealism even though he never joined or followed any group style. Last year, 4th graders worked on the Georges Seurat mural, and 2nd graders worked on the Henri Rousseau Sleeping Gypsy Mural.
