At the end of school last year, when classes had a chance or when students finished a project, 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades worked collaboratively on giant murals. In one of the pictures, you can see some of the now-second grade artists who collaborated on this Joan Miró inspired mural last year. Joan Miró was a Spanish artist whose work is often called Surrealism even though he never joined or followed any group style. Last year, 4th graders worked on the Georges Seurat mural, and 2nd graders worked on the Henri Rousseau Sleeping Gypsy Mural.
I'm so excited to be back in the art rooms! At Leigh, the art room is now on the ground floor. I'm at Giles M-W-F and Thursday afternoons, and I'm at Leigh Tuesday all day, and Thursday morning. I'm looking forward to all of our great projects from K-5 at Giles, and K-1-2-5 at Leigh.
